I've just seen a lovely set of 4 18" alloys for sale on ebay, problem is they're in Edinburgh and I'm in Surrey.

Anyone have any idea what this might cost me in postage terms?

I'm just worried it might cost me both arms and quite possibly a leg.

Guess it'll depend who they use to send them. I sold a set of floorstand speakers on E-bay last year and sent via Securicor Omega, who collected from my address and delivered next day for £33 (speakers weughed 30kg), I also had a complete leather interior for my girlfriends car delivered at a cost of £30, this weighed about 200kg.
Send them an e-mail and ask for a postage cost before you bid...

Surrey to Edinburgh and back sounds like an ideal hoon.

Sod the petrol cost and collect!

It's ironic, but I travel to Edinburgh via plane once a week. Could be a bu66er trying to get 4 18" wheels on as hand luggage

www.parcel2go.com

The best for very heavy parcels such as that.

Why not just take one wheel per week?

my mate and I sold a set of 18" range rover wheels on ebay, postage was 70 quid, we hired a van and borrowed a fuel card and pocketed the difference! had a damn good hoon in the van from glasgow to reading and back! maybe look into it.

Y'know, it's a daft idea (maybe I should stop right here ) but how about getting them shifted by PH relay? Someone in Glasgow could drop them off at, say, Penrith; I could do there to York, Gemini would do York to, ohhh, the M25 in a works car, in about an hour 20 ... etc. etc.

I bought 4 alloys on E-bay two weeks ago and paid £60 next day carriage.

Distance within mainland UK doesn't really effect cost with carriers - its a weight & size thing.

Cheers for all the replies guys n gals. It appears the seller is prepared to pay for any postage costs over and above £20!!

I'm still a bit nervous about buying wheels off of ebay though. The auction ends tonight but there are no current bids. I've asked for more photos as 2 of the wheels have "slight kerbing".

If they don't sell tonight I think I'll stay in contact and get more photos sent to me.

Do you think £450 for 4 18" rims is a good price? Two new tyres are required though
