Just seen dream 996 C4, almost signed on the dotted, but notice it was a C16...

Also noticed its 1st owner was AFN in bath..Dealer advised C16's (imports) are valued the same by OPC's etc etc, and I shouldn't worry, but bells were ringing..

I'd be grateful for info on this from anyone on values and general attitude towards them..

Cheers

Also just remember when I was playing with the air/con I saw 'manuell' on it, which is german>english 'manually' , this would sure mean its not fully uk?

C16 is full Uk spec, but not supplied by Porsche GB, AFN being registered as the first keeper is some what strange (but nothing to worry about)

Regards Value on a car out of warranty, difference in value is very little

A** about face.

Youve got it back to front,

C16 means to UK tech spec/legal spec, an Import that is C16 is to UK legal/tech spec (note not 'option' spec).

C16 alone doesnt mean its an import.

Therefore 'official' UK cars will be C16 too.

If its an import will have supplying dealer stamp from abroad.

Not wishing to confuse....but I know some OPC happily deal with C16 (coded) imports. RHD imports could be from other Countries 'spec' then you will see different coded...C???

As for inspections, GT One are good.

But if you went to an opc for their inspection you would know how close(or how much work required) to put a Porsche warranty on it...could be useful.

Ok, thanks for the info... I need to be 100% sure that the car won't be devalued due to being a 'c16' if/when I trade or sell to private.

I'm suprised at the German wording on air/con though, you would of expected this to have all be sorted?

Would porsche GB potentially refuse to warrant?

Crikey, I'm astounded by that, surely this should not happen on official Porsche GB cars!, but if this is true I'll be a happy bunny and do the deal if I know its not going to effect resale

Just come off phone from local OPC, and they confirmed they'd treat/value a C16 the same as any official Porsche GB one. Be happy to hear from any other OPC's...

Seems strange as most other manufacturers seem to have a 'stigma' attached to imports and are devalued by up to 20% !..

Oh well, good for me, I'll get my deposit out now

the manuel wording is normal and C16 is a factory recognition code for a UK Specification car !

It may however not have been ordered through Porsche GB but rather an independant but it is still a full UK spec car
