hi all,

I currently work full time as a school photographer doing the standard set poses for individuals and groups etc, but i am planning to get more into studio work for families, modeling portfolios and that sort of thing, just to earn a bit more money and have some fun with it. Trouble is i feel im getting into a bit of a routine with the poses i am limited to do for the schools etc, and i want to start being more creative for personal work.

What i am looking for is links to sites, and advise really on how to spice things up a bit, at the moment i am taking inspiration from magazine photoshoots and just trying to recreate poses i have seen in them, but again this isnt my own style which i would like to be able to create and improve.

I can get access to a small studio and i have all the equipment i would need its just the final bit of making them all work together to produce something a bit different. i quite like the venture style and the way they edit their images, i would just like to know how the images look before all the manipulation, anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks for any advise

Lee

www.fredmiranda.com - check out the People Photography forum. There is some truly, frightenly awful stuff but there is also some execptional work with the photographers happy to share their working methods. It's a good resource for both inspiration and technical information. (Posters particularly worth checking out are... Daschund Woolf, RoleyChiu, EOSER, Cristina)

www.annabelwilliams.com - A UK based contemporary, "life style" photographer - she has a couple of books which whilst a little light are pretty useful
