SEAC idle speed
Discussion
It would never idle when cold which was OK as hot idle was perfect. For no apparent good reason, started engine yesterday and immediately ran at 1400 rpm which would have been good except that it remained at this level or slightly higher when hot. I am loathe to start poking around too much as I cannot think what could have caused the change and probably more to the point the air/fueling system is not one of my strong points! Is it worth trying the idle adjustment screw? Any pointers gratefully received please.
Normally an air leak will create rough running, could be a stuck valve over run or cold start, drive it around for a bit before you adjust anything, closing the idle by-pass screw a tad won't do any harm, but my guess is that you'll reduce the idle to correct speed for now then what ever is holding up the revs will correct itself and then you'll have a nasty lumpy low idle.
