Hmm - 'better' is a tricky one. There are plenty of alternatives - eg a 'proper' DSLR - something like a Canon 700D ( link) is a popular choice or the equivalent Nikon.
Probably the best plan would be to try and get a quick shot of one in a shop and see if you like the interface - any of them are capable of taking great shots.
There's a lot of technique involved - definitely more important than the actual camera!

As said before, it is a good bit of kit, but offerings from other manufactures are just as good in quality terms, however the sony will do something that not many other DSLRs will.
Wireless transfer to your phone. That could be really handy if a client wants you to send over a picture ASAP. No messing about, straight to your phone into an email or text and off it goes

I visted a car warehouse a few months ago and one corner of the prep room was a set up as a photo studio, complete with full-time bod taking photos. He had an entry-level DSLR and the results were well above average for the industry. Point is - it's not the camera so much as the lighting and background.
I had one earlier this year. The image quality wasn't bad at all - some of my favourite pictures from 2015 were shot with it - it can use loads of lenses from many manufacturers (I used Leica and Sigma), it is light and easy to carry and the auto focus was utterly astonishing! The quickest and most certain I've ever experienced. For the price I think it is great.

The image quality will be as good as any DSLR with the same APS-C sized sensor, they've just ditched all the mirrors and prisms to make it much smaller.
The lens that comes with it is a bit wider than most kit lenses at 16mm, which coupled with the small size of the camera makes it much easier to get good interior shots.
