Exhaust removal help!

I need to remove the exhaust to get at the last manifold bolt. I have done what it says in the bible in order to remove it. The trouble is I cannot slide the system back far enough to uncouple it at the front because the plate hits the rear anti roll bar. The bible makes no mention of this so........?
Do I need to remove anti roll bar as well? Or am I missing some thing obvious?

Just to cheer me up; can any one confirm that the passenger side bolts are the worst to get at?

Could be easier to remove rear anti-roll bar if needed. Undo the bar brackets should give you more room. Not all cars had them.

Where are you splitting it?

I'm splitting it where the system joins the Y piece just in front of the nearside engine mount.

Am I right in thinking that with the weight off the suspension I can undo the anti roll bar where it bolts to the chassis & it will just drop down out of the way?

Took the exhaust off mine a couple of weeks ago and as far as i could see, you have to drop the rear anti-roll bar. Its not difficult and if you have the car in the air, it's just a careful unbolting excercise.

May be a good opertunity to check the bushes on the bar clamps as these are prone to perrishing.

Don't forget the exhaust bolt fixing to the engine just behind the clamp, you can't see it when you are lying on your back underneath, but you can see it from the passenger side wheel arch once you have remover the front wheel.

Once the pipe is off, you should have no dificulty getting to all the lower manifold bolts on the passenger side from below.

IIRC, undo the drop link from the wishbone at one side, loosen the other side. Remove the nuts on the ARB bushes (can just loosen the front ones - it 'hinges' off), then you can drop it & swing it out of the way.

Yes I remembered the hidden bolt.
What gasket cement is it safe to use with the cats? Any recommendations?
