Got to wonder about the longevity of the remaining NA engines in the lineup..........

Finally! What the 991 Turbo has needed is more pace!!
In seriousness, I don't see the point of the 991.2 Carrera given that it will have a (worse) turbo engine than the Turbo. It's cheaper. That's it, right?
Contrast the 997and 991.1, where a lot of people (me included) prefer the Carrera 2 and 2 S to the Turbo.

Greater unusable performance.....more detached driving experience..... higher price..........
So.. like the gt3 then?We all know the TTs isn't the kind of vehicle designed to throw round a track (unlike the GT3), so one could question whether this greater performance has any benefit for legal road use.
Are you saying the TTs is likely to have more driver involvement than a GT3? That would be a first.
A higher price would be entirely justifiable if we are getting value from a car....but whilst the 991.1 TTs initially held its price reasonably well due to restricted supply, historically and in the short term these are hefty depreciators indicative of too high a price when new. Totally unlike the GT3.
I have just had a look at the 991.1 Turbo S's for sale and am amazed that hardly any of them have the leather dash.
How much were these cars new? Surely the leather dash should have been standard.
I know that a leather dash does not anything dynamically to the car but surely it should be standard on a super-fast-turbo-911-luxo-barge

Not long after the 991.1 Turbo S came out, we saw one at Leeds OPC with 100 miles on, when queried, the sales guy told us the owner had picked the car up, done a few miles, then scared himself with full throttle and sold it back to the OPC, quite a bath was taken I understand!
I can only assume he wasn't used to a powerful car... So, let make it faster anyway!

Here we go I'm going to say the wrong thing. So the new Turbo S has a very small percentage increase in BHP; somehow I feel that this is little more than a stop gap model. There is something coming because there needs to be. The 911's problem will not be power or torque but weight. I believe I'm correct in saying that the new McLaren 570S is approximately 300Kgms lighter than the Porsche giving it about an 85BHP/ton advantage. I'm sure I read that Andreas was quoted as saying that reducing weight not power was the way forward . This ultimately will mean an entirely new model must be on the cards probably with a carbon tub. I do not wish to buy a Macca as I am shortly to be driving my GT3RS, which is a car that I believe will represent the end of a glorius line. I have no intention of flipping or indeed selling just driving and do you know, I can't wait!
