Hi All,

My partner is been paid paid 3 days short of her monthly salary in December.

(She is a term time only teaching assistant in a primary school if this makes any difference)

The reason for this is she had 8 days off to look after our 18 month old.

Does anyone know what the statutory amount of paid parental leave is per year?

She wasn't aware of how many days she was entitled to prior.

Regards,

Danny

Generally there isn't any right to paid parental leave. Some generous companies may allow a few days but most don't.

Employment law allows you to take unpaid time off to look after a dependent or unpaid parental leave. That or you use your annual leave allocation if you want to be paid for it.

Parental leave is unpaid unless you are taking it under the shared parental/maternity/paternity rules.
