Can anyone recommend an App or book or whatever to help to learn to meditate?
Sensible answers would help but any suggestions welcome.

Mindspace run courses in the midlands and a few other places. They also have an app and do a free 14 day online challenge starting the 1st of every month which is a good intro. There is also a YouTube channel somewhere. I will post details if I find it.

The main link is http://www.mindspace.org.uk

In terms of books, one that comes to mind is the Joy of Living http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Joy-Living-Unlocking-H... and another is Ajahn Brahm's mindfulness book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mindfulness-Bliss-Beyond-M...

I'd recommend checking out this organisation. I've been to one session in my area. Not really my thing but I can see that others benefit from it. http://www.brahmakumaris.org/uk/whatson/arounduk?o...

Headspace is the one I recommend.
Mindfulness, meditation without the spiritual rubbish. Try the 10x10min free sessions and go from there if it suits.
