Hello,

Please can anyone tell me what type of electrical connector I need for the Houx?

Thanks

In theory: French domestic 2-pin plug.
In practice: UK 3-pin plug as you'll almost certainly be linking in to one of the infamous Houx multi-block monsters.

These were overhauled 2-3 years ago, they are now caravan style connectors only - no manky French 2 pin plugs there any more.

Used to be : http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=115...

So doesn't that just mean it's a set of caravan plug->3-pin multi-block leads at the post, then the traditional extension lead monster?

There's a combo of "big blue" and French Domestic.

Personally, I'd take a caravan big blue with a splitter on it. That way you're guaranteed power without worrying abut the mess of gaffer tape and 3 pin connectors sitting in a puddle.

We only found 'big blue' connectors last year, and didn't need to resort to spurring/splitting.

If you're buying any leads or adaptors to plug into spagetti junction (especially ones that are going to be daisy chained) make sure they're higher amps as the thinner cables turn into over cooked spagetti if too much power is drawn through them.
Ideally 16 amp cable works best and less likely to be damaged by cars running over them. Also useful if a neighbour needs to take a spur off your cable in camp.
This is general advice for any of the camps with electricity. smile
