With something so specialised as an f40 it's best to use experts with a good track record to find you the right car not just a car . My advice would be don't cut corners , take your time with the right peopl eand expect to pay more than you want to .
Follow the above and you will find a great car you can enjoy for many many years to come .

Have a chat with Robin Simpson at Graypaul Classic Cars - their website speaks volumes about the man & the cars he's supplied.
Think their new showroom is ready this week, looking forward to having a snoop round before Christmas.
Does he get any autonomy from the rest of the Sytner group then? I heard that they had £20m in the kitty to go the classic route. Lancaster are doing it, as are HR Owen...all too late I feel...Think their new showroom is ready this week, looking forward to having a snoop round before Christmas.

Not sure of the financials involved, however they have re-homed some lovely vehicles this year. Their current inventory looks splendid.
Had dealings with them when I was selling our SL600, they had it on SOR for a while. Car didn't sell which didnt bother us really but what did was the aditiona milage that was on it when we collected it, the scratch on the rear wing and the oil stained drivers footwell mat & drivers seat (mushroom leather interior) which we had to then deal with before selling privately. Spoke with the MD following us collecting the car who was away when this happened and didnt even get an apology out of him. Very disappointed in his attitude towards us raising the issue.
At the time they only operated on SOR basis, the more we thought about it afterwards the more the whole was set up was very strange.
May be just an isolated incident we experienced but I wouldn't have any dealings with them, be it buying or selling. Even more so if your in the league of an F40 purchase!

GP service one of my F cars and approached me about purchasing the 928 GT. Although it's not currently for sale it does seem they are slightly widening their scope for good cars.Their current inventory looks petite but rather great.

For clarity-are your comments directed at the Harrogate dealer in the original post ?At the time they only operated on SOR basis, the more we thought about it afterwards the more the whole was set up was very strange.

Have a word with John at Mcgurk performance cars. He has recently sold 2 F40's, both of which i detailed. Im sure he will be able to help you out.
If you are serious, you should also speak to Matt at Simon Furlonger. He always has access to a few good F40's in my experience.nutbehinddawheel said:
