I'd like to take my godson (in Year 2) to a Santa-themed motoring event. (My wife's friend knew I was an atheist when she asked me to be his godfather, so i can only assume she wants me to guide him in the ways of petrol and pistons.) My own sons are 18 and 15 and so I'm out of touch with current young, child-friendly motoring events.

Something like the St Wilfred's Santas on Motorbikes even at Goodwood would've been perfect but I note they are not running it in 2015 due to rising insurance costs: http://www.santa.stwh.co.uk/santa-sprint-and-strol...

Brookland's Museum have Santa on the VC10 so that's an option but I'd prefer something road-related rather than the air. MBW don't seem to be doing anything for kids either.

Can anyone recommend anything?

There is the ph Sunday service on Sunday December 13. That can be accessed via sunday service link .
It will be full of cars and maybe the odd bit of tinsel but I've not seen anything else posted out yet .

Thanks tonymor. I'm booked onto Goodwood SS anyway and might offer to take him there too.

Hi. If you dont mind travelling into Berkshire the ReadingToy Run is well worth watching. This years event is on Sunday afternoon (6th Dec). The website is http://readingtoyrun.blogspot.co.uk/

This year is the 30th anniversary and each year a huge group of bikers travel from Reading to the Barnados Home in Wokingham to deliver toys. The bikes are all dressed up in Christmas themes and it takes a good 40 mins + for them to all go by. The roads are always lined with loads of families, with it being one of those events that makes you proud of your local community. My two kids (11 and 6) love it. We usually stand on the A329 to the west of Wokingham where there is always space to get a good view.
