First my apologies, because i know this has been done to death, for example do Griff (etc) seats fit into a wedge? Only curious cos there are some Griff seats local to me on ebay, this got me thinking as my seats have seen much better days (i think the car had flood damage at one point judging by the state of the carpets when i bought it...)

Has it been attmpted to fit any other sports car seats into wedges, eg theres a pair of Porker 928 seats on ebay too, or i could put the front seats from my Accord that im dismantling (even though theyre not the most supportive seats ever) plus i can do the measurements with out too much trouble.

Any other suggestions, or attempts that are known to of failed?

Regards
Iain

I've heard that MX5 seats fit quite well. Finding something narrow enough isn't the problem, it's the length under the thigh that is. Depends on your taste, of course, but after the wedge seats I find most other cars (including the boss's Merc) have very short cushions.

Hi Iain,

When i bought my 350 about 6 years ago it had rover 800 seats fitted and they were ok but didn't suit my taste so i put some wedge seats back in. The best thing to do is take some measurements and look at other seats but in MHO the wedge seats are great are yours really beyond repair??

Cheers
Nick

They're not *beyond* repair, but i'm just wondering whether i can put something "better" in with less hassle and cost.

I've put Chimera seats into my 400 and they used the same holes as the original 400's.

Go for some later type ones, as they have more side support.

Even my origianl headrests fitted into the Chimera

Good thinking Batman!!!

Last time i was at my local scrap yard they had a couple of remains of Chimps and a Cerb, will give them a call later to see if anything is availible.

I note the guy with the Griff seats has them in the PH classifieds for £, will try my luck at the auction, though he will probably end the auction early at the price they're at now!
