Paint Protection GT4 - Surrey Area

Have a GT4 coming and want to protect at least the most vulnerable parts to stone chipping. My Spyder got peppered and had no protection.
I'm collecting from Guildford OPC, and live SW London.
I am finding quotes vary hugely and there seems to be few installers in this area? Paintshield in Peterborough and Topaz in West London seem to be highly recommended, but don't really want to have to go to Peterborough, and Topaz quoted £5k for a full car!
Seems like the best choice is either Xpel or Suntek - any views on the latest variants?
I spoke to a guy at Auto-Protek in Ascot - any experience with these guys? I tried to research but very little comes up - much more reasonable prices though.
Ideally I'd have it done at the OPC before I collect.

Talk to Mike at Minutia detailing in Croydon. He has done amazing details using ceramic pro which imo is way better than film. Essentially a hard layer that makes the Car scratch proof and chip proof. He has done all sorts. Gt3 4.0, Nsx r, 458 aperta etc. the guy is beyond ocd when it comes to detailing and does it all himself. Have a look on YouTube and Google and you will see the benefits.
Porsche OPCs have just started offering XPEL wraps.
First I had the car detailed and gtechniq crystal serum applied to the whole car. This was done at Porsche by Richard Ttipper from Perfection Detail. Check his work out on Twitter (@Perfectionvalet), I would recommend having a proven professional do a paint correction at the very least, otherwise you are locking in the imperfections under the film.
Porsche then added their XPEL "track wrap" version. The front wrap includes the front bumper, full bonnet and both front wings, this is £1,750 inc VAT. The track wrap adds the side skirts, side vent covers and rear wing. This took the price up to £2,300 but think it is worth it if you are going on track and probably the side skirts anyway.
The car looks fantastic and I think is a good mix of coverage and price. Although it's a lot, I plan to use the car properly and take it to the track so it seem worthwhile trying to protect it.

It's more of a permenant wax as far as I know, it keeps a great shine and is great at repelling water, making the car easier to clean etc. I don't think it's going to help protect the paint from a stone flying at it at +80mph.

Topaz are coming to the end of finishing my RS. So far it has had full paint correction and been detailed at my OPC in Tewkesbury. I believe by now the whole car has been covered in film. The high impact areas have have had Expel fitted the rest has Suntek 2. Work started on Wednesday and ran through till late Friday. They are returning on Monday to give it a final detail and inspection. From what we saw on Thursday left me quite staggered at what they had achieved. Hope to post some pictures soon. Throughout the whole process I have been provided with photos and even video. It's not cheap, though the end result is going to be fabulous.

It's a while since I last bought some film, but that price via Porsche sounds quite racy. Looks like there might be some "Porsche Tax" in that pricing. Given they use a sub contractor anyway I'd be tempted to source direct from them. There's plenty that get recommended on pistonheads. I went with front full protection + side scoops, side sills and panel around the side scoops, rear arch protection and rear wing after seeing all the horrible pics of people with chips on the rear wing scared me in to doing it !! Plus ceramic coating on all other exposed panels, wheels and glass, asked for the callipers as too as they love to collect brake dust and bake on.
I took a bit of a punt with AutoProtek but Scott had done a good job I settling my paranoid ways and believe My car is in good hands 👌🏽

Im afraid no coating makes the paint chip or scratch proof, only ppf film will do that.If anyone's interested I've just started doing wraps from home in my spare time. I use best quality all-purpose Waitrose cling film and can do front only or front and sides. All cars are washed carefully using Fairy Platinum soap and detailed with Mr Sheen Multi-surface bees wax polish. Coffee machine and tea-making facilities for those who want to wait. Alternatively if you want to leave your car I can drop you at the local bus-stop.

Another vote for Topaz.
Topaz did the whole front end of my Panamera and also the rear bumper, back in May when I took delivery. I had the rear bumper done because I live in central London and I wanted to minimise parking scrapes.
Since then, I've covered 6k miles, including lots of motorway driving and the car still looks immaculate. I believe Topaz use Suntek and Xpel, but use them on different parts of the car due to their protective capabilities/different thicknesses. I think the cost was something like £2.25k, and the whole car was quoted as £4.5k.
I would do exactly the same again and have been very pleased with the results. I looked at Paintshield but logistically Topaz made more sense for me. I also considered getting the whole car covered but don't regret not doing so. Is it really worth doing that?

I just had these prices quoted to me by my OPC too. Actually stacks up quite well versus topaz and paintshield, who seemed to be the most recommended. Unless someone has any better suggestions to save some cash, I think I might have to go with the OPC.Edited by HammerCJ on Wednesday 9th December 21:36
