Personally I think the TVRCC is worthwhile. Sprint is a pretty good read, but for me the big thing was meeting up with other TVR owners. Over the last three years I've made some friends that I otherwise wouldn't have met… and even though some of them no longer own TVR's, we're still good mates.
You pays your money, and you take your choice, but for less than a full tank of fuel I think you'd be foolish not to try it.

It is worthwhile for the Sprint mag alone, plus there's the occasional discount to be had for members on various things, however, regarding new friends, I must admit that I haven't made one because of TVRCC membership. I have however made a few friends (and one very good friend) via these forums! 
People who have bad experiences tend to be the most vocal, but that doesn't mean there aren't others around who have a good time. I'd humbly suggest that you go along to a meet and make you own mind up rather than listen to other folks opinions. There will doubtless be members with a copy of Sprint you can have a look at, at your local meet. You can also suss out if you local region do the kind of things you want to do, are receptive to suggestions you make and whether they're your kind of people. I hope you have a positive experience.

Exactly. It's a club and only as good as its members make it. If you're a passive person who wants his social life organised for him without making any contribution then you're going to be disappointed. On the other hand if you fancy putting in some effort to make your own club a great place to be then you and many other people will benefit.
Join up and make a contribution!

As already said its less than the price of a tank of petrol and the monthly magazine (sprint) is worth that alone.
Go to your local meeting as a visitor, then join and judge for yourself, you don't have to renew.

It is a great club to be part of, not just TVR car talk either. My 1st meet at the Mid Essex region yesterday and it was most enjoyable. Even made friends with another member who shares an interest in gardening and poultry keeping 
so a very diverse and interesting group of people.

I joined TVRCC mainly to find out about their track days, but since have become a regular at the local meet. I like the "convoys" they organise, and when I turn up unannounced at other areas' meets I unfailingly get a good response and am made to feel welcome.
So go for it! I can vouch that C3C are a friendly bunch, they organise runs into Wales sometimes... depends which bit you're in, pick a local meet and go along and find out!

I'm not a club-type person either but most motoring magazines are about 4 to 5 quid a month (£48 to £60 a year), so if my maths isn't too dodgy, 12 months of Sprint alone comes out pretty cheap with the added benefit that half of it isn't adverts and it's about our cars. And like peeps say, you get other benefits on top of that and a regular place to go to get drunk (I mean, talk with fellow owners).
I've found it useful to meet and talk with other TVR drivers. Found out lots of helpful hints and tips through that! Nice social too - especially the opportunities for track days and trips (like Le Mans).
The website is not very active - I tend to come here daily, but only go to TVRCC on a monthly basis.
The Sprint magazine is a good read - but tends to be too 'motorsport' orientated for me. Not that much of real value for ordinary drivers, although there is a wealth of adverts, which may help you when it comes time for selling, servicing, mods etc.

I first joined the TVRCC in 1976 when I bought my first TVR. For those of us in the States, it was the only such organization at the time. We now have our own club but I am still a member of the TVRCC because it keeps me informed on what's going on in the TVR community abroad and they do such a fine job with SPRINT each month. If you own a TVR, I think it's definitely worth the small investment.
