It is a lovely looking thing in most colours but GR certainly is one of the best imo. Pity I can't get one without paying a ridiculous premium.

Great Video. Thank you for pointing us towards it.

It's nice to spend 30 min or so watching great cars in great scenery.

I thought the commentary was very informative, the way they 'dismissed' the AMG and Lambo, for example, shows that it's not about lap times and POWER.

Did they not do the more In depth thing in the magazine which you had to pay for and was not the free video just a lovely thing to watch for the scenery and cars! Just saying

It's not that complicated - the Evora is an old car now, hence the reheated meal analogy. I drove one the other day and the chassis is great. Personally I felt that the interior of the 400 wasn't up to scratch for a £72k car. It had a lot going for it, so am surprised it disappointed that much in the group though. I didn't have enough time in the car to pass any more detailed comments....

The magazine article does provide more detail, along with equally flowery journalism as displayed in the video. I enjoyed watching the video, despite the apparent need to elevate the piece to "art" from the creators. The photography was fantastic, it has to be said. As a complete video, the piece would have worked better if we could have seen the faces of the journos, as Evo seems to want to make it as much about the personalities as the cars. I suppose they didn't have the budget / time to finish it.

On the evora, they said the engine was not very good,a pretty important area in such a test .

With moose here, load of guff at the start saying how great ECOTY is because, surprise surprise, they get to drive some great cars in a lovely location, precious little insight into why a car did or didn't make the grade - just a 30 second summary on pluses and minuses per car would have sufficed

Anyway I read that in the magazine, and the video looked pretty

So we have for COTY 2015;
Evo - GT4
Autocar(?) - 488
Road&Track(?) - Corvette (but no RS/McL to compete against, but GT4 present)

Any others?

Motor trend Mercedes Amg gt bizarrely , finished low down in most uk tests and honestly I was very unimpressed when I drove one,and I'm a big amg fan.

Thanks for posting. A bit ott on the introduction re writers ,evo and all the emotional clap trap etc but have to hand it to them the filming and photography is outstanding. I think it would have been improved if they maybe had Chris Harris and Tiff Needell on the panel IMO but i doubt the outcome would have been any different - the GT4 just looked totally dialled into those twists, bumps and crests in a way none of the other supercars quite managed all looking overly stiff and not really flowing with the roads - the SV looked like it was going to snap its suspension over some of those bumps lol. The hatchbacks looked like a hoot on those roads!

Money no object I wonder how many of those journos would really pick a GT4 over an SV, LT or GTB?!

Remided me of a launch video for a new Apple product...lots of beautiful shots and words....but no real substance. Guess you buy the mag for the in-depth stuff....

Never underestimate the effect of the venue on these groups tests (IMO).

We did a 4 day session in the Highlands this year and although I was there in 2012, I was surprised at just how straight and untechnical the roads are (not to mention rough and ragged).

The run from Kinlockewe to Durness is truly mindbending but it's actually the scenery and sense of emptimess that impresses the most. For me the roads in the Alps are entirely different and a whole other level and if the EVO test had been undertaken there then I bet the final pecking order would not have been the same.

Great video for me with the right sort of tonality. These driving holidays do tend to approach soemthing bordering a religious experience and the film's emotion did convey that to some extent. Last thing we want is a dry autistic analysis with lots of middle aged, painfully unglamourous talking heads popping up every few seconds.

Yes agree would have been an even bigger win for the GT4 !

The Alps may possibly provide more of a challenge but in the real world of UK typical driving roads Scotlands probably as good as it gets.....well apart from Yorkshires finest that is.....driving
