F10 M5 spacers

Hi guys
So I was cruising along the other day and a identical M5 came past me and I noticed straight away it was sitting wider than mine. It looked amazing any tips on this an recommendations on how much to do and pros and cons etc.
Not my bag at all as i think it detracts from the OEM line of the car given it's meant to be a Performance Saloon, however i know (hardly surprising) it's popular in the US & IIRC the preferred sizes are 8mm front & 10mm rear. Are you sure the car you saw wasn't just lowered or sitting on different wheels? So I was cruising along the other day and a identical M5 came past me and I noticed straight away it was sitting wider than mine. Spaces is a common thing to run.
10mm all round.
10mm have issues due to the size of the lugs/lips, 12mm have bigger lugs and are hub centric and sit properly on the hub, lots of info on f10 post regarding the issue and why you should fit 12mm as a min. 10mm all round.

I have 13mm and 15mm hubcentric sets sat in the garage which came of my f13 650. Longer bolts etc all still as new. Was gonna try them on my m6 but it looks good as is TBH.
These did make the 650 allot more planted looking and 13mm was the lowest to be able to have hubcentric. Turner Motorsport do advertise 10mm versions though, not sure how they manage that...?

Check out this link, TMS do not recommend a standard 10mm spacer on a BMW without doing other work.

I run Macht Schnell 12mm spacers all round and have ACS springs fitted (25mm-20mm drop) zero issues and no rubbing.
Do you not suffer any scraping of the under tray? Mine's on H&R Springs with a drop of around 18mm (i was hoping for less than 15) & on speed bumps or dips in the road mine does suffer with the occasional scraping of the plastic under tray. Not a huge issue but definitely something i have to be mindful of.Wills2 said:

I have once coming off one of those table top speed bumps, but in general I've had no issues, perhaps yours is lower than you think and/or mine is higher than I think.
Seems odd as if they've dropped by what we've been told, then yours should be lower than mine.Mine's on 19's but can't see 19 vs 20 making a difference.

If you have the H & R sport springs then this thread says the drop is 1" (25.4mm) on the front and .6" (15.4mm) at the rear.

Well that would explain it then. I assumed it was 15mm all roundhttp://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7896...

Mine is black on black and the other one was identical same colour same wheels etc it could have just been me but im pretty sure this looked wider unless he had wider tiers on than mine...
Where dd you see this? London ends of M4/M25/M40/M1 and it could have been me. I've just put some BC Forged wheels on my new M5. They have a 10mm wider offset; OEM sized, but just a slightly more aggressive offset. My latest M5, I didn't bother with the factory 20" wheels, saving the 2k on the upgrade option and putting it towards some slightly more individual wheels. I've kept the wheels muted and OEM looking, but at the same time different, I like to be subtly individual.Carpmart said:

Yes just as I got off the M1 heading towards Oval Cricket ground. It had a 4 digit number plate. So what would you guys recommend on the OEM wheels so I don't jeporodise the drive and feel of the car etc and will it cause any warranty issues? An can anyone recommend one who can do it for me in the midlands area. Wills2 said:
As I said 12mm hubcentric all round.
Thanks for this, it's on standard suspension would you recommend getting lower springs or will it good with the 12mm spacers with the standard suspension? Also what about tyres my tyres need changing soon which you suggest different sizes than the OEM size to compensate for the spacers?Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
