You can disconnect the valves however you probably will get a droning noise. This was discussed in some detail about a year ago with mixed reviews from those who tired it Most from what I recall reverted back. I went for a Sharkwerks bypass and absolutely love it. It doesn't solve the low revs sound but really brings the car to life when you reach 3.5k revs.
