Every time there's an error, we are given this message, and a link to return to the (advert laden) home page.

Instead of linking to the home page, can you not just link the "My Stuff" ??

I'm not really that interested in being forcibly directed to the site home page rather than the forum home page every time there's an error.

Hi Tony

I hope that you aren't seeing these error messages too often but I will raise this with the development team to see if we can initiate on your behalf

Hi TonyRPH,

Thanks for your feedback, that is something we will look into.

For now, if you can remember the steps that lead up to you getting this error then that would be helpful.

Thanks,
Dom

Dom, both instances occured after clicking the "My Stuff" link at the bottom of the page. IIRC one was following a post I had done.

I was just heading over to Website Feedback to report on the same events, so in case it's of any assistance I've been getting that happening as well...there was a period last night and another started earlier today and just repeated once again.

In my case I'm reading a thread, then I simply get bounced out with the same error message appearing on-screen as described by TonyRPH. There doesn't appear to be a pattern in it but that's not to say one doesn't exist.

I'm getting this too when I click on thread via 'My Stuff' and 'What's New'

Good point. Those are the only ways I look at threads so it wouldn't appear as a pattern to me, just normality.

Sounds like there's an issue with the 'My Stuff' link at the bottom of the page.

What device and skin are you using?

Thanks,
Dom

I usually click the links at the top of the page, and then click on threads that look interesting but;

I've just had this error again.

This time, I noticed an error messag ein the browser tab:

"Internal Server Error (500)"

Clicking on 'My Stuff' provoked this error.

IT might be a good idea if in future, you actually return the HTTP error code as part of your message, as it can be far more informative than your existing page.

Hi TonyRPH,

This will be changing shortly, but unfortunately this is not likely to be this side of Christmas.

There will be an extra link on the error page to take you directly to the forums, so when a 500 error occurs you are not forced to go back to the forums via that pesky homepage.

Thanks for your feedback,
Dom

I get this occasionally, and find reloading generally gets me to the page I wanted.

Thanks for making the change (even though it'll be getting close to next year).
