I run a fleet of 5 vans, and my renewal has just come through, at an absolute fortune. 5 figures!

I've been insured with Swinton for about 5 years now, on a small fleet policy so anyone can drive any van, as we frequently need to move people about from van to van.

Any recommendations of brokers, or how to insure the vans more cost effectively?

Would named drivers work better? But of a pain when staff come and go, but if it saves me some money....

This is right up my street. I own a commercial insurance brokers who have assisted a number of PHer's over the years.

Swinton, with all due respect, are personal lines broker who do a relatively small proportion of commercial so they dont have the full spectrum of fleet products.

If you are paying £2k plus per van then I'm guessing your claims history isnt that great.

to get quotes you will need to ask swinton for your 3 years "confirmed claims history". I'll need a copy of this, a list of vehicles and a 5 minute chat to get the process started.

We fitted trackers to all our vehicle which provided lots of benefits one of which was a big saving on our insurance. We also fitted front facing cameras....

Got trackers, which are costing a fortune every month, doubt they save me what they cost in terms of insurance, however, they are handy for what we do.

Just to add another name to the pot...this is what we do as well. I won't name my company as I am sure there are rules but if anyone else needs assistance feel free to PM me. We already help a few PH'ers.
Thanks

Fleet insurance is calculate on your fleet claims history i.e essentially a 3 year P&L

The trackers and cameras generally massively improve your claims history. This is where the premium savings come from
