Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of price I should be paying for a 308 GT4 nowadays ? Doesn't have to be concourse or ultra low mileage, just a nice driver, I assume prices have moved on from when Hammond bought that one on Top Gear for £10k ?

10k? Yep you're right to realise they've moved on.. You're now looking about 50k+
The Ferrari market, every model up to and including the 430 has risen in value. Why? Many reasons. You get naff all saving in the bank. Houses had gone flat as an investment. Pensions have been tinkered with again by the government. It's not just ferraris. The whole classic market has sky rocketed....it's free from tax too. This lies the biiggest pull by investors.

Look at Beverly Hills car club in the states.
They always have a lot of cars that need a bit of work.

'bit' of work!? You should see the Mercedes 230SL a friend bought from them - it was not as described. Just make sure you see the car or have it inspected fist.

As an owner myself, I keep a keen eye on prices. Not that I'm looking to sell, but it's nice to know what I'm sitting on should the need arise.

Anyway, there does seem to be quite a variety in mileage and condition of the ones for sale at £50k so it pays to look around. I'd be looking for one with good bodywork and interior and evidence of regular recent use and servicing.
