I can't help with the colours, but I can recommend the Revell 1/48 kit.

Here's a thread with some photos of mine..

What a great subject and oh boy that is superb painting on the Revell kit

I hope you do get this one going Trevatanus, there's scope for not over doing the contrasting colours as much as he did on his

Not a style I like myself, preferring less overstated work as I do

Do show us how you get on with it

Oh dear god.
I've not built a model in years, the Typhoon turned up today. To say I feel "intimidated" is an understatement.
This is going to take a while smile

My last model took 7 months - on and off. It's not a race; be patient, get it right, and enjoy it.

Absolutely.

Take your time and enjoy the experience - and don't put yourself under any pressure to finish it quickly.

Do little bits every so often rather than trying to tackle great chunks. You'll be surprised at how much progress you make.

I've got 5 models on the go in various stages. Some I've started almost 2 years ago, others 2 weeks. I seem to get to a point where I get scared (doing the small airliners) and stop. I can see me struggling with the rigging of the one I started for the WW 1 group build that seems to have gone quiet!
