Hi All.Thinking of putting in an order for a 2016 G350 with high options.

My two nearest dealers offered 5% discount off total RRP.
Any advice or experience of more favourable deal.
Incidentally both offered reasonable lead time of 3 months. I'm not bothered buying from any main dealer as these two are two hours from me.

Many thanks

I think your options requirements mean they have you by the goolies. You could try a bid from carwow.co.uk but unlikely to get the options you want I suspect

You may get some discount by taking a demonstrator but getting a discount on a G-Class built to a custom spec is going to be quite difficult I think. The more options you want the more the dealer realises you want a specific car and they are in a good selling position. I tried a couple of dealers in my region and they didn't seem interested in even selling me a car!

Hi and thanks for replies.. Agree that some of the dealers I've spoke to almost come across with a sort of sceptical
suspicion.. 'You actually want to order a G Wagen ?? and you want a discount??'

Maybe the discount I mentioned of 5-6% is good and I should consider myself lucky... Maybe I should forget a new diesel and go with a
pre reg G63 (which there seem a few about) and worry about the fuel later! Mind if for the short term petrol drops to £1/litre - no worries..

I was looking into this at one point, though not speaking to uk dealers, looking at europe

With no additional options the UK price is £88k the german otr price was £63900. I'd be looking there first.

isn't there a new improved version which looks the same but addresses a lot of the G wagens faults coming out ?

As the basic design hasn't changed in 40 years, I'd buy a used G63, a private plate and put the savings over a new one in the tank. Solid resale values too when about 5 years old.
