Help me get rid of this daft immobiliser please

The whole song and dance of opening the car door (press the button at least twice) and then having to frantically get the key in the ignition before that dreaded blue light comes back on. Then turning the key backwards and forwards, as there is no definite 'position 1' point then pressing pressing left/ right (?) buttons until the light turns off is getting ridiculous.
Sometimes while trying to turn the light off, the car decides that I have pressed the button for two long and the alarm goes off. Then I have to let everyone see me lock the car and then unlock it while I am sitting in the driving seat.
I want to get rid of this ancient Foxguard alarm /immobiliser and I dont think the fobs will last much longer.
How difficult is it to take out the system and replace it with something modern, that can open my boot and start on the first key turn whenever I decide to start the car?
Is it all under the dash or are there components elsewhere? The siren btw is also under the dash.

No offence intended but I would hope that no one will reply detailing how to remove the immobiliser on a public forum. You may well get PM's though.

I don't need it fixed in a rush because the diff is out for a refurb and the steering rack comes out Saturday for the same but I would like an immobiliser expert in south bucks to come and remove the bloody thing. If anyone has a local recommendation who will come to me at home I would be grateful.

I feel your pain, I had the later Meta system and the immobiliser used to embarrass the crap out of me,,

Mines been sorted as part of a new Ecu install and all I can say is the feeling now is priceless,
It starts and stops on command rather than when it felt like it,, my nerves are now at rest,,,,until it fires that is,, haha

I doubt they will be able to get the dash off let alone take the immobiliser out. Jes
Has anyone replaced their system with a modern aftermarket one and is it just a case of swapping the control boxes out?

Carl replaced my entire system with the latest Meta system. No more hot starting issues, always works properly, 60 seconds to get the key in the ignition, remote boot release on the key. Job jobbed.
