So whilst im not looking to leave my current work a opportunity has arisen for me to have a interview after I told them I couldn't make the first interview. This was due to my OH being in hospital and me doing the daughter duties I politely declined and thanked them for the interview request this was Thursday last week.

Roll on today they have called and they have asked me to go next week again I said sorry but I have plans and wont be in the country which the MD said no worries ill sort it out give a call in 10mins the end result is they are coming to a café near my house to meet and go through the role this is the MD and HR director.

So do I treat this a interview and turn up in suit or just do a casual shirt with some chinos due to the location?

I've only ever had 2 interviews since coming out the military the first one was 3 hours after my daughter was born then the 2nd was 4 days later where I got offered my current role.

For a coffee meeting?

I would go smart trousers, nice pressed crisp white shirt, suit jacket, no tie.

Given your background shouldn't be necessary to remind you about polished shoes. As the saying goes "never hire a man whose trousers are shinier than his shoes!"
