Just bought an 07 E280 with Air Suspension, should it allow the car to sink when parked or retain the normal ride height?
My disco stays put unless leaking so I fear the worst.

Hi,
it retains the normal ride height.

Sounds like a leak. MB STAR would be able to test it for retained pressure or you can check it the old fashion way with a bottle of suds on the pipes.

Been keeping an eye on my CLS as it has the air suspension, seems to make a few hissing/pumping noises when you turn the car on or off but using the patented number of fingers method it seems to retain the same height overnight and when left for a few days, in sport 2 its two fingers, three to four in Comfort.

I beleive things arent quite as expensive as they used to be with airmatic, seems to be £450 a corner for the struts and the pumps are £200, not sure what else can go wrong, am guessing there is a control ECU and then there is the piping, the struts look easy enough to change on a diy basis.

Anyone done any repairs on them, it is also my main concern on my CLS, but I have to say, it does seem quite impressive.

You can also get a coilover conversion.
