I've a 929RRY engine with everything apart from HISS. I believe there is a mod that can be done to get around this.

I have to options:
1. Mod existing ECU/Loom
2. Add USA spec ECU (Might not receive this though)

Have you done either of the 2 above?, if so.

1. What is the mod?
2. Is there any mods required when adding the USA ECU to the UK loom.

I have a wiring diagram for the RRY 2000/2001 but the ignition plug has 4 wires on it and the actual plug I have only has three (pink missing), There is an extra plug on the loom which is not documented on the diragram also. I guess the is the HISS and that diagram is from a USA bike. Is this correct

You can contact me by mail if you wish

No specific answers to your questions, but my understanding of the HISS system is that it is locked to the ECU. Therefore I cannot see that any wiring mod is going to work around the problem - if you do not have a working key that the ECU recognises the code of, you are stuffed. I'm not sure if Honda dealers have a method of programming keys via diagnostics access, but you'd (hopefully) have to convince them it isn't stolen (maybe they have records of ECU to engine number or similar?).
It may well be the case that a non-EU ECU doesn't feature the HISS system, but as you suggest, it may open up other issues where there are differences in the engines.
