993 alarm question re possible flat battery

I'm looking for some advice as last weekend I went to check on my car, which is not kept at my home address, and due to family and work committments has not been used for about 4 months.

I had it on a CTEK charger but the charger seems a bit temperamental as in it doesnt respond to the change in modes from bike, car, winter when pressing the button. I disconnected the charger for a couple of weeks and then re-connected it and that was probably a couple of months ago.

Anyway, I notice last weekend it said it was fully charged but it was on the bike setting.
I was going to unlock the car but noticed that the LEDs on the doors are not flashing. What does this mean? I've got a horrible feeling I will set the alarm off.

Yes, the centre console flashes.
My car is a 95 model with key (not remote) and has the tiny immobiliser slot in the dash, if that makes a difference

Also, the clock seemed to be working so makes me think there should be some power

Are you sure the car is locked?

I'd unlock the car, ready with a few ring spanners, and if the alarm goes off I'd pop the bonnet and disconnect the battery as the OE alarm on the 993 is usually just powered by the battery.

I'm prettty sure I pulled the door handle to check it wasnt unlocked last weekend

Update - all sorted.

Although the car was locked the alarm needed resetting and aparantly just a simple unlocking and locking of the drivers door was sufficient

If you're sure the car is locked then unlock it then re lock it and wait 10 - 20 seconds to see if that brings the light back on and ithey flash correctly.
If other things are working I'd say it ain't a flat battery causing it.
Anyway what centre light.? I have one that flashes but that's for the aftermarket CAT2 immobiliser. On my early one there's no other OE flashing lights other than on the doors.

Sounds like you've got two cars welded together there pal; maybe a 964 front and a 3.2 rear, with some 993 wings on it.

AFAIK the OE alarms fitted by Porsche in the UK, supplied by H&P changed over time from the PA100 as described above to the PA1000 with remote and possibly PA2000 - but I wasn't present at every OPC when they supplied every 993 over the years.

Therefore AFAIK the centre LED was part of the PA100 install. The alarm(s) also tie into the door LEDs.
