Button Leaving?

Ok, so this could (most likely) all be totally wrong...
A couple of days ago I was sat next to a group of guys and girls who had clearly been to some sort of F1/motorsport function for one of the teams - they were all discussing various aspects of F1, historical drivers etc and the conversation turned to Jenson Button, nice guy etc etc and then the tone of the conversation changed and they started whispering, but one of them raised his voice a bit too loudly and I heard him say, ' but when Jenson left...' He was quickly hushed very loudly by everyone else in the group and the conversation went back to a whisper and I couldn't hear anything else.
So, could Jenson have left McLaren? I need to caveat that I could have totally misunderstood the context of the conversation but I am 100% sure I heard those words...
Probably just gossip but thought I would share!

I had head phones on so don't think they were aware of me.

It may well have/almost certainly did relate to something entirely different. Hope so, as would really like to see him in a hopefully more competitive McLaren next year.

You weren't in or near Milton Keynes were you? Last Saturday the Mercedes team held their Xmas party at Stadium MK. Many of the team have history back to Brawn and Honda so could have been referring to when Jenson left them.

RBR also had their Xmas do last weekend; fancy dress at the factory, maybe someone dressed up as Jenson......

Well Santander have just renewed their sponsorship of McLaren, and one of the features they specifically mantioned was Button, so I guess they would be miffed if he had left! Seems unlikely.
