I like these, came close to buying one this summer. Decided the fuel economy would be terrible, bought a volvo in october that does about 25mpg, wish id just given the 5 series a go! I like them in 'grandad' spec though to be honest thumbup

Nooo!! Keep it as is, so much nicer. A decent condition pre facelift one is still a classy machine, especially in Green. Even the front indicators are sharp orange, rather than faded as so many of them are.

looks tidy, i'd go bigger alloys as long as they are BMW ones, have been tempted to do angels on by e46 but have so far resisted.

Well fuel is £1 a litre now, so why not! Also, I can get a steady 36 mpg with cruise on at 70 - this does come crashing down when you want to open it up however smile

It just looks so much older than the facelift models, which I think still look stunning, I think the amount of rubber on the tires does make for a comfier ride though!

Style 32 or M-Pars is what you want in 18. For a slightly better ride you could get the 17" M Sports.

Nothing wrong with upgrading the headlights to decent ones.

They might look a bit funny with pre-facelift SE old man bumpers though... hehe

Looks great, M-Para's may look a bit 'council' on it but Style 49's and the clear light pack could work..

I'd personally M-Sport facelift it, and keep the other bits. All bolts on/off.
