Hi,

A little bit of advice/knowledge please.

My friend has got a LP560 (59 plate) and bought it from a well known Lamborghini dealer.
He had an issue with it and when it was at the garage, they informed him that the warranty company would not cover it.

Fair enough, some things aren't covered BUT the warranty they put on it was an RAC warranty.

From my experience, shouldn't it have a Lamborghini warranty on it if they have sold it? 2009 with the normal mileage you would expect on it..

I have heard similar stories of a main franchise using the aftermarket Bentley warranty as its a cheaper option than the lambo one.

I have always wondered why the local Lambo dealership advertises its second hand cars under its Bentley sister company. This makes more sense than the reason I was given when I asked.

Lamborghini warranty has been absolutely great for me.

Purchased 2011 LP560 Sypder this time last year from main dealer. Car came with about 5 months official warranty and then 12 months Bentley.

Had an issue with breaks sticking due to break discs not being clean. Took to my Lambo dealer and told them to do a full check. Eventually nearly 9k worth of work done under warranty (including 4 new tyres and a new alloy).

Few months ago (now under Bentley warranty) the roof did not come up. Took it to my main local dealer, no problems, replaced the parts probably cost near to 1k but in addition they also found some kind of fuel leaking onto the exhaust (potential fire issue!) so parts were all replaced (another hefty sum).

So far very satisfied with both the warranty and the service and in May will be extending it for sure. It will be interesting to see what the difference is between Lambo and Bently warranty pricing for me next year.

Can someone explain this Bentley warranty please? Why use Bentley?

Ok this is my understanding of the situation
If I sell my Lamborghini via an official dealer it first has to go through a 100 point ? check over in the workshop at x£ cost, provided it passes or you pay to have any defaults corrected it can then have a Lamborghini warranty at something like £3k
If you just sell via any dealer you could just put a warranty wise warranty or similar on the car.
In relation to the Bentley comment, I understand that they use some kind of aftermarket warranty.
So Lamborghini warranty = 3-4k can't remember exactly
Aftermarket warranty = a few hundred.

Also I was told that once my factory from new warranty period expired (3 years ?) I couldn't extend beyond unless I opted for 4 or 5 year option from new.
