Just ordered a Jeaneau Merry Fisher 795...

A great little boat and just the ticket for coastal and Sydney Harbour work. Getting it trailered too so I can store on dry land.

It's kinda like a camper trailer on water.

Plus specced the 200hp Yamaha outboard to go with.

Sadly selling my Four Winns H240 to make room though and that's been a great day boat.

Congrats. I like the 795. We sold loads of 755s and I hope we do the same with the new one. It's a fair old trek getting one to Sydney tho. Ours get delivered by lorry by Polish drivers, I hope for their sake yours arrives by ship.

What is really clever is the website only shows family fun photos despite its fishing boat origins. This helped sell to wifey wife greatly!
Little does she know I've specced it with some decent Lowrance fish finding gear and have my sights set on Bluefin's next year!

What plotter you having? I havn't worked in a 795 yet but I think it's HDS7 Gen 3 touch as standard and upgrade to HDS 9. Are you having structure scan. It works well, I've fitted loads and my dad has got it on his boat and it works well, and that's in Swanseas brown water. You really can drive over a wreck and a shop appears.

A few of our customers bought 755s as fishing/family boats. The marlin version has got a bit more room for fishing but it's not as good as a family boat. We've delivered two 755 marlins the last couple of weeks and they both went to guys who bought them as boys day out fishing boats.

I've just changed it back to the HDS 7 actually. Its the gen3 and does all I need. I'll end up using 10% of its capability no doubt.

By the way I'd love to meet the designer because he's missed some points such as a self drainer in toilet and front cabin moulding, wasted space on the Port transom add on (I'm adding removalable cushions), cup holders and storage at helm and a way to store the table when you need to access the locker under it. Guess I'm spoilt my yank boats that maximise space and comfort.

I suspect all modern boats are the same in that respect. The amount of space wasted by those sexy curved GRP mouldings is horrendous. One reason I didn't upgrade to a Sheerline was because although it was 30% bigger on the outside than mine, the inside was no bigger. And even mine has many cubic feet of unused space.

Not all boats, the US market in day/trailer boats is so competitive they maximise every inch of space. Really some of these European Designers should go have a good poke around that range of boats. They'd learn a thing or two about packaging.

Sadly no USA manufacturer has done an offshore cuddy cabin fishing/family boat like the 795 though.

I would have preferred a Boston Whaler 230 Vantage but again no cabin, so no approval from wifey wife.

I've sold a few 795s already, but so far only handed over one. The rest are still on order. They're really popular. I think I've got 5 arriving in the next couple of months, there's a bit of a wait for them now.

I've sold one boat for commercial use, it will be used to transport guests to a hotel and for sightseeing trips. All the others are as family weekenders.

I believe the photos of the family having fun on the website were taken in Croatia during the dealer meeting. We had the new 795 to play about in which was glorious in 30 degree C heat, clear blue skies, zero wind and beautiful scenery. It's a beautiful place to have a boat.

Great engine choice by the way, most dealers recommend the 150 to keep the price down, but it performs so much better with the 200. My demonstrator has a 200 drive by wire. Is it the F200FETX or F200GETX?

PS. Make sure it's got the correct prop. Some of the Jeanneau recommended props are way too small.
