Vantage for sale in NI
Discussion
Hi all,
Does anyone here know anything about this car on Autotrader?
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/aston-martin...
Looks like it's based in NI, which I guess goes some way to reflecting the low price - but it's also been on and off Autotrader for a few months now. I'd normally expect £29k Vantage to be sold in days. Would the red interior put buyers off? I'm tempted to view it, but it's a long way away and I'm a bit worried there is something glaringly wrong with it that I've missed.
Finally - does anyone know what the colour is? Does it look like Meteorite?
Thanks,
Nick

Fairly sure that's Tungsten Silver. The worn interior, and colour, will put off many buyers. Insurance for that over there will be astronomical as well, hence a smaller pool of local buyers, which may be another reason it hasn't sold.
There's nothing wrong with buying a car from NI though.

Thanks guys - looking at it again, the interior could do with a good clean but doesn't look in too bad a shape otherwise. The exterior seems to be pretty clean (I've seen quite a few in this price range with non-matching colour panels). I'm guessing that the clutch will be on its way out if it's not been changed at the mileage.
I'm tempted to take a punt, assuming the service history is solid and the price can be adjusted to reflect the state of the clutch.

It's Tungsten , my old car was almost identical except had black interior. It sold privately very quickly.
Seat bolsters really are not that expensive to sort out. I'd say this one is still for sale due to the interior colour and the fact it's a 10 year old Aston and the running costs scare people. (running costs are really not that bad for a car like this)
These cars haven't dropped much in price the last few years at all,
I sold my 55 plate tungsten/black car with 31k privately for £30k 3.5 years ago.
I only sold it as I bought a 2008 vantage roadster with high mileage (now on 68.5k).

Nothing wrong with a bit of Iron Ore leather interior. I choose my AM with Iron Ore as I prefer it over the standard black. But each to their own I guess.
My seat bolsters were also a bit worn, but I got a leather specialist to dye and clean the complete leather interior and now it looks like brand new. For information cost about £360.
The external colour also looks similar to mine, mine is called 'Oyster Silver' which is silver with a slight gold/brown tinge. I've never found a similar coloured AM, generally most are the Tungsten Silver/Onyx Black.

I'd say it's tungsten silver and at a very good price. As you say, it's a long way to go, but the seller may feel he's exhausted local selling opportunities and as such has dropped the price to tempt a sale from the mainland. Interior is not to everyone's taste but only you can make that decision. Face value it's a contender, but expect clutch to be a consideration. Have a look at the buying guide to get a feel for the usual niggles.
Fabulous cars, I miss mine so much.

If its got good history its bargain is that even tho it does appear to be quite a low spec car.
The drivers seat bolster isn't knackered it just needs a good conditioning. Another poster reckons the wheels arnt upgraded but they are upgraded 19" not standard 18" 10 spokes!
I don't really like Iron Ore but it wouldn't have put me off if id had found a car that ticked my purchase boxes.
Nice colour as well.... new tyres and pads .. cant go wrong really at that money
