BT TV - using a second Youview box?

I've had BT TV for about 18 months now. Does what I need for a lot less than Sky are charging.
My Youview box died on Sunday, and I'm waiting for BT to replace it. Being without it for a week is a pain, so I'm wondering if it's possible to buy a spare box to use in the bedroom, and as a backup?
Do BT register the boxes in some way so that they can restrict access to the extra channels, or is it just done via the Infinity broadband line somehow?
