Inverrted Nitrons????

Hi all, just need a bit of advice! I was lucky this weekend on ebay to bag a set of mint Nitron coilovers for a measly £150 on ebay. They are the old NTXs, but really, not a scratch on them, infact its hard to tell they have ever been used! Damper travel is all how it should be etc etc. However - two issues!! Although I haven't taken my stock TVR ones off yet, from pictures on the net I can see that the distance between the top bolt hole and the top hat is quite short on the ones I have got, wheras the cerbera specific ones look like they have about 2-3 inches seperation between the top bolt hole and the top hat....... so, if I have clearance problems can I run them inverted safely or does anyone know of issues running coilovers inverted????? I still have the issue of spring rates/lengths to work out too, the dampers are around 380mm fully extended and around 280mm compressed, anyone know if these dimensions are workable??? If they don't fit, then at least I tried!!

My rear Nitrons are inverted to make adjustment possible with the wheel on.

NTX are imo the best dampers Nitron ever made.

I think you should mount them the conventional way up if at all possible. Guy said if I wanted to run them upside down he'd bleed them extra carefully for me which implies they may be more sensitive to gas pockets that way up. And in general it looks to me that when the seals do eventually go, they'll leak much less if they're kept the right way up. Oh, and remember that Nitron won't service the NTXs any more.

I have NTX's inverted and they seem spot on still having been on the car for quite some time .

Very good damper in my experience with 1 click making a noticable difference to the feel of the car .

Yup the old ntx were great dampers, but were very difficult to build consistently, and are a twin tube design so I wouldn't run them upside down if at all possible. Most twin tubes don't work upside down at all.
