So, when I click 'X' (twice, because you apparently won't take no for an answer), please accept that as my final answer, and don't ask me again on EVERY page refresh!

Hi Doofus. That shouldn't be happening. I'll check the settings now to ensure once is enough

Thank you. It's Android. I use an Adblocker on my PC, so it doesn't show up at all.

If you use firefox on android you can add ublock origin and ghostery for a more pleasant browse.

Pretty ridiculous isn't it PH?

Surely this is just a modified version of the "sell my car" pop up from about three weeks ago.

Remember the one?

It popped up on every page........

People complained.....

That one shouldn't have been doing it either.

How can a post be edited 3 minutes before it's made?

I'd like to win something but I no longer trust PH (yes, Haymarket) not to bombard me with future marketing st and / or sell my details.

Hi Tonto

This is a competition that i'm running. The pop up that you see has been set to only show to a user no more than once a day and never again once the user clicks either the link or the cross in the corner to disable it. Unless you are running a incognito browser or similar browser that doesn't store a cache.

If this is not the case and you are still seeing the message then please can you let me know.

The reason for showing it on the Forums in such a way (which I have tried to do in the most unobtrusive way possible) is that a large proportion of the members don't come through the homepage so might not be aware of this competition.

I'm using Dolphin browser on Android, with no whistles or secret bells. I have to press the X twice to make it go away, and the banner reappears on EVERY page refresh or new page.

Hi Ollie, all okay now. Yes, I was running an incognito browser and wasn't aware if it. Thanks for replying.

Ok i'm getting the dev team to look into that as that shouldn't be happening.

Presumably the dev team are using the 'Outcomes' approach to web content.

"We're gping to do fk all about this, because we're off on our Christmas holidays, so we don't have to listen to people whinging, and by the time we come back after Christmas, the competition will have closed, so the banner will have gone away, and everyone will feel stupid moaning about it after the event, even though we have just pissed users off again without being accountable in any way.

Ho fking ho."
