Plasti Dip - Anyone used it for their PORSCHE emblems?

Hi all,

I'm considering doing this to my PORSCHE Cayman S emblems on my boot lid.

Has anyone here had any experiences with the product, particularly interested in ease to apply (is it as easy as the video makes out?). And durability (willis start coming off after a while?)

Thanks, Trev. That exact thread was where I actually discovered Plasti Dip as a way of making the badges black I think I'm going to give a shot, been watching some more videos on YouTube, so I'm definitely a qualified applicator now

I may even go nuts and 'dip' my headlight washers too, we'll see

Plastic-dip is pretty much risk-free. Always worth a try if (like me) you think chrome/bright-work is really just a way of distracting the eye from fundamental ugliness (this of course pertains to some of the ladies as well as to cars....).

Tempted to black the P O R S C H E letters on the hatch of my 981c....always thought they looked a bit brash...but not usually one to go 'off piste' from OEM....sounds like this could be the way to go.

Ive used it. I sprayed the bottom panel of my rear PU black using Plastidip, same as how the 997 GTS cars have theirs finished.

Real easy product to use, gives a good very durable finish, mines still going strong 6 months later with no sign of peeling.

As you will know from youtube, you can just peel it off at anytime if you want to revert to original!

Its a great product and would be perfect for doing the badges with!

I've used this on my C4s, like others have said, you can't really go wrong as it peels straight off although due to lettering it's a bit awkward to get a clean finish on the edges.

The other half has the PORSCHE logo on hers and this was far easier. Did this in red for her to match her hood and rear lights

I tried it in the ed on my S on the c4s and it was useless.

It's very durable, I did my horrible chrome grill on my jeep last year......this thing gets no love, it's just a work horse, and the grill still looks good..

One thing to be aware of though, my first attempt was with a can I bought off eBay.....it was crap
Second attempt I got it from here http://matt-pack.co.uk/ and it was spot on...

The black grill looks cool, better than the chrome in my opinion! Glad to see it's lasting My can was off eBay, seemed to be authentic!

Thank you. It wasn't tricky to do at all, just spray on and peal off. The PORSCHE is perfect, but the Cayman not so much as when I was peeling off it pulled some paint away from the chrome badge. I think this is due to either (1) I didn't clean the surface enough or; (2) I didn't let the paint dry enough before removing; or a combination of both. This is just me being a perfectionist though, the finish is still great.

I'll get some close up pics tomorrow for you.
