Can anyone please tell me why I can get the right tool to take Quartzo 1/43 models off their bases? They have this stupid triangular allen key screw which is driving me round the bend to try and get off so I can put the models in my display cabinets. furious

Thanks in advance. smile

You will need a screwdriver set with a triangular screw bit attachment. They usually come in those sets with hundreds of bits plus the screwdriver handle that they fit in.

I've got quite a few screwdriver bit sets and the only one which has a triangular bit is this one:

You can undo them with a suitably sized flat blade screwdriver. I've never had to resort to a specialist bit.

Assuming these are triangular (rather than three pointed star) you need TA screwdrivers or bits eg http://www.amazon.co.uk/Diy-Triangle-Head-Screwdri....

Looks like there are five sizes, TA14, TA18, TA20, TA23, TA27, if you can work out which size you need you can probably buy singly.

The three pointed stars are called tri-wing, eg http://www.amazon.co.uk/UniversalGadgets-Tri-Wing-...

When I got my first model with these screws I phoned up Trax (who I bought it from) and they sent me a free IXO screwdriver.
