So after a quick search I found a few threads that asked the same question but with no definitive answer, and I'm not sure I'll get one. But I'll ask anyway.

So on an NSL dual carriage way and going a bit fast on my way home today. I reckon about 83. I know, too fast, no excuses to be made. There's a bit of a crest in the road and as I get over and past a bridge, I spot a speed camera van on the opposite side of the road facing toward me. I'm guessing by now you know what my question is going to be; is it possible that the van will have picked me up?

As far as I'm aware these vans normally work using a camera/laser out the back, with a front camera for getting the plates of anything with no front number plate. As I said, the front of the van was facing toward me. I also know that they can read speed up to over half a mile away, apparently. But that doesn't matter because as I said, was coming over the crest so clocked it as soon as I could have. I slowed down to 70, probably before I was even next to the van.

Also, the road divider would pretty much completely block the view of oncoming number plates from the view of the front of the van (I checked later in the day). I'm hoping the chap in the Audi behind me knows the answer because when I pulled in to the left lane he took off at a decent pace.

Anyway, what do you reckon the chances of me getting snapped are? I know it's possible, but is it likely they would be looking out the front? Especially in the position it was in (see below)

Thanks in advance.

On the A19 they use a van that has a camera in the bulkhead above the windscreen , it's targeting vehicles on the opposite carriageway so it is possible, I don't hink they're allowed to shoo through glass so if you didn't see a camera flap on the front you're probably OK
