Warranty question

I'm aware that if you purchase a car with an extended warranty from a non OPC, you have to wait 3 months before you can transfere it into your name, but what is the situation if the car has some original warranty remaining and it comes from a non OPC?

A long as the car has been serviced in line with Porsche schedule the manufacturers warranty should remain. Worth calling just to make sure as each car has its own story. for example if the car has been over revved RR 6 i.e. a mishift or remapped, or fitted non standard Porsche components this may well invalidate warranty.

Thanks. I thought this may be the case but wanted to check as the PH massive tends to be better informed than your average non opc.

I purchased my used Cayman privately but it apparently had some remaining extended Porsche Approved warranty remaining, attached below is an extract from the documentation.

The person I bought my car from had purchased it from a non-Porsche dealer yet the local OPC was willing to sell him a Porsche extended warranty following a successful 111 point check - they were either unaware/didn't care, or it is irrelevant, that it had at some time passed through the hands of a non-Porsche dealer.

Thanks for this but I'm referring to the manufacturer's original warranty, not an extended warranty.

Manufacturers warranty = transfer immediately
Extended warranty = transfers if private sale but terminates otherwise. This is due mainly to the fact that it is in essence an insurance policy.
