I'm due to renew my policy for the Sagaris with A Manning who I've been with for my Chimaera insurance since 1999 and the Sag for the last 2 years. It's a limited mileage policy (2,000 per year) which due to work I got nowhere near this year. £1k excess for accidental damage etc.

I'm late 40's, cars are kept in a secure garage in a low crime post code and I have full no claims.

Does this sound like a good price.... For me that is?

1k xs seems a bit steep to me. I guess it depends on what value you are insuring for. I have a 22k agreed value with a £100 xs limited to 3000 miles/yr declaring 1 fault & 1 non fault in the last 3 years and it cost me £320 at renewal

Yes shep, I think I went for a higher excess to reduce the premium. It's a market value policy and the sag is in near a1 condition with less than 23k on the clock so worth a little more than I paid a couple of years ago I suspect.

Really looking to see if it stacks up as haven't shopped around. A Manning have always been good to deal with but I've been fortunate enough not to have made a claim with them in over 16 years of using them for TVR insurance.

I have just put my 3rd TVR on a single policy (2k limited mileage) with Footman James and pay a total of £140 p.a. (Classic/TVR policy with discount for being a TVRCC member)They will cover any TVR inc. Sags....

That's a bit different to what I'm paying if I include the Chim, I'll have to give them a call on Monday.

Its a shame I live in a part of the country that is usually on fire.
