Cayman broken shifter cable ugh

I knew it would happen one day and now it has, anyway its been fixed however I'm not sure I'm happy.

Can anyone tell me if their gear shift felt different after having new cables fitted? Pre-breakage I was really happy with the shift, but now it feels a little loose and a little less precise.

I don't know if this is because its a new cable, a different cable or if its been fitted incorrectly. The problem is I can't go back to the garage and say its not right because the car changes gear fine, just not as nice as before.

Did you get the Porsche upgrade fitted along with new cables? There's a new lever at the gearbox side that changes the angle of the selector cables so they're straighter and less prone to snapping again. I found after having that done when mine went that the gearshift became a lot snappier and tighter. Like going from regular to short shift (which it isn't) so a huge improvement.

To be honest I wasn't told much other than it was fixed, but the gears feel quite sloppy.

Kind as of its been left slack so it wont snap in future. I may give the garage a call.
