Firstly this is not an advert, but mods if this needs to be taken down I totally understand. Just needed to pick some minds..

I have a genuine 1976 lhd Audi 50 believed to be the only UK registered car on the UK roads, i know of one other but that's currently off the road having at 1.8t transplant I believe. Anyway sadly mine has to be sold but how do I price something I can't compare anything with?
Is it mk1 money? Or would it be more as its rarer?
For those who don't know much about these only made for a year or 2 but were too expensive, then Audi sold design to VW and the polo was born... The 50 is the grandfather of the new Audi A1.
What's your thoughts?
Also forgot to mention mine comes with papers from Audi confirming it is what it is, not a polo with a Audi badge as these are often faked!
Thanks

With that type/age of car, it's all down to what 1 or 2 individuals will be willing to pay for it. Some will think it's only worth a few hundred quid, but you might find someone that is willing to pay £3k+ for it.

I assume it's not going to get near Mark 1 Golf Gti money, as it isn't a "sports" car? If so, that does limit your market a bit, and the chances are that a Dubber will want it as a base to ruin it's authenticity by putting a larger engine in it and Stancing it!

I think you just have to start advertising at the higher end, and get it on some VW/Audi specialist forums, then bring the price down over time. Obviously that only works if you're not in a hurry.

Might get a better price for it offering for export back to Europe? Always amazes me how pricey some cars are in Germany and something with oddity value might do better there.....

Do your homework on exporting requirements with DVLA, advert on German ebay (or UK with ship to Europe), maybe cost up delivering it via professional outfit and factoring that cost in.

Could always offer it to VAG UK and see if they want it for their heritage collection?
