Hi, my '06 V8V coolant warning light comes on occasionally. The coolant reservoir is topped up and not leaking. It only flicks on briefly and each time has happened under acceleration at low revs (5th gear 50mph) after a prolonged 50mph average speed camera stretch. Temp seems fine and doesn't come on under more aggressive acceleration so can't believe it's surging.... any ideas? Sensor knackered?

Could be the sensor, I have had 2 go on my 2006 car over 76K miles. They are about £15 from memory and were replaced at service time. Kept telling my I had low coolant, even after id topped it up that morning when cold

Someone said you can clean them easily enough, whether you can be bothered with the hassle for £15 though smile

Thanks both.... I'll see about getting a new sensor on it.
