Hi I own a diesel 2.0, 2008 avant with auto gearbox. I've experienced the issue previously (recently), however today it was more noticeable.

At just under 89,000 miles, I don't consider the car to have high mileage (particularly for its age). I drive in 'D' 99% of the time, very rarely using the 'S' mode or driving through the automatic gears with + and -

Today it seemed that the gearbox was 'slipping' or was very slow to change up, as revs were not building. Once in 4th it seemed fine (discovered in S mode - Presume the same in D), and accelerated as normal.

Does anyone have experience of this? Is it a simple change of transmission oil?

thanks

Mike

80k should have been its second multitronic oil change (due every 40) so would be surprised if it was that.

Have the oil changes been done?

Hi... I'd like to think that the oil changes have been done. If it's on the list of items for the service then it should be included. I'll have to wait until after christmas as the garage is closed today.

fingers crossed it's just the oil!! engine management light came on this morning.

No, it's not part of a routine service; it's in addition even to a major service and due every 38,000 miles/60,000 km.
