Had the emissions service required flash up, got the reader out and plugged it in to clear it ( as I've done a couple of times before) however it couldn't make a connection. I then took it to a friend of mine with a more sophisticated reader and the same problem occurred. Just wondered if anybody's had the same thing happen?

Thanks in advance, and Happy Crimbo to all.

With my one I have to plug in the obd2 and then click read. At a very particular point I switch on ignition 2 otherwise it won't connect to the car.

When you connect your OBD reader does it have power?
I connected one to a car once and nothing - a fuse had gone that supplied power to the OBD socket, pin 16 is the power pin, check it's not damaged

No my point was the instructions were wrong. Well not wrong, it was the DB9 being funny about it. If you follow the instructions then it wouldn't connect whereas if you turned the ignition 2 on halfway through the obd2 sequence it would connect.

SORTED!! Even though I've plugged it in a couple of times before, it wasn't until Bogie questioned as to wether I was in the right plug that I looked in the drivers footwell, and hey presto there it was.
Thanks for everybody's imput ......... That's one of the things that makes this such a great forum.

Correct one for body ECU and one for Engine
Roadsters have two as well
They are tucked up either side of the centre stack under the dash

fuses are under passenger side footwell carpet at front, you need to pull carpet back. Undo the torx bolts holding the cover on and you will find them

That explains it, I pulled the carpet up but didn't expect to have to get the tools out.
