Mechanic/budding engineer, looking for advice/vacancy.

Hi, i know many on here are engineers etc. and was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice on my situation or know of any vacancys available. I'm currently looking for a job in the automotive sector, im 22 and have a massive interest in cars and anything engineering related.
My qualifications are fairly good, A's in maths and science at school, from there i went on to achieve a high graded Btec extended diploma in mechanical and electrical engineering. I have also finished a year at coventry university studying automotive engineering, although i left due to personal reasons. Since then ive worked at a farm machinery workshop fabricating large equipment from scratch working in a small team. Gaining lots of exprience in metal work, welding etc... I worked there for 6 months but left due too wanting to work in a more automotive based role. From there ive been unable to find a permanent position, my last position being a HGV mechanic for eddie stobart for 4 months, i enjoyed that but it was agency work and was laid off due to the position not being available anymore.
I also have been working on my own cars since i was 17 and have 10 years of karting under my belt, maintaining and racing my own kart. Im also currently rebuilding and supercharging my Bmw E36, i have a thread on here if you want anymore info, it shows some of the work ive achieved, general spannering, custom fabrication etc... Im no master technician but i have a lot of passion for the job/cars and really want to improve my skills and knowledge.
I've applied to return to uni in september but would prefer to go into the workplace even in a trainee position.

In terms of future opportunities, I would always advise on reaching your academic potential before hitting the workplace if you are ambitious. It's of course not essential, but for most, it's a good call.
If Uni is not your preferred option, you could look for apprenticeships.

OP - I would definitely take rog up on this offer - it's what he does, and he does it very well!
