Torn between LP56 spyder or a 12C coupe
Discussion
No idea what to do about this. Both roughly the same price.
What would you guys do?
Gallardo LP560:
Looks the dogs
Drama/Theatre/Sound
Lots of road presence
Convertible (I really fancy some top down motoring)
Probably easier/cheaper to maintain via Indies
Is it "clunky" compared to a 12c?
Probably won't lose much money
12C Coupe:
Looks the dogs
Not as much drama/sound
Not Convertible
Modern DCT, fast, modern
Love the doors
Gonna be expensive to maintain
Will probably lose some more when the next run of Macs start to emerge
I think I want the Mac, but the gallardo looks more supercarish, and i don't mind admitting that i kinda want that in your face theatre (or does the mac give you that too?)
Help!!

Having gone from 560 (well 550) Your post sums it up about right, I do miss the look at me shouty presence of the bright orange Lambo, 12c is ice silver so goes under the radar a bit, however you do know you are in something special.
Regarding running costs an annual on the 12c is £1500 at least that is what I am told, dont think proper lambo service much different and in many cases a bit more for the big services.
Yes Mcl warranty will set you back £3.5k a year if you decide you need but again a proper lambo warranty is not cheap.
Regarding performante comment above, why would you pay same money for a Gallardo as you can pay for a Hurracan which is widely acknowledged as one of the best cars they made ?
Buy the 12c, I cant see them getting any cheaper.

12 C spider is the perfect answer if you can stretch the budget a little. 12C is by far the superior car and the new generation supercar whereas the Lambo for all its drama is proper old school and agricultural in comparison. The lambo Looks and sounds great but starting to feel dated.
Later 12C especially in spider form are superb and the folding hard top is a big plus over a fabric roof IMHO. Its almost 2 cars in 1 with coupe style looks and open top motoring at the same time. Also the level of excitement and drama is increased.
With the doors everyone will thinks its a lambo which always makes me chuckle when the Gallardo has regular golf hatchback doors

Do you want a Lamborghini 430 or a McLaren 458 (if you see what I mean) ? Most agree a car's capabilities have moved on hugely in the last decade BUT some choose cars on their looks too - you could always try to stretch the budget for a 12C spider !
If I could stretch to a 12c Spider then I'd probably do that. However, it would involve finance and I quite like the feeling of "owning" my car - even if it is just temporary. So, being stuck between a rock and a hard place - coupe 12c or convertible 560 me thinks. I hear what you're saying though - dct transmission, witchcraft suspension, more modern everything, simply faster with a stack more bhp. Seems a no brainer until you look at a 560 and it just looks so much more supercar-like.RamboLambo said:

What's the view on depreciation across the two? Lambos are mileage sensitive, however they're easy to clock which leaves me feeling suspicious about some of the low mileage (high priced examples). I'm told that the Mac odomoter can't be clocked. This means that Macs will show true mileage and therefore there will be more higher mileage cars. Will this mean that mileage in Macs will matter less than in Lambos (and other exotica) where some people just keep them knocked back?

Why do you think the 12C would cost more to maintain?
Parts prices for either won't be cheap but the 12c is the newer car and the level of engineering on them seems to be far better than on the Lambos. Other than the electrical problems on the very early cars I haven't heard about any issues with the 12C.
I'd go 12C. Surely the best value supercar by a mile.

The graziano transmissions have been know to fail costing 10s of thousands to repair (replace). Something do with leaking fluid. I'm no expert although somebody else may be able to shed more light on it. Other than the electrical problems on the very early cars I haven't heard about any issues with the 12C.
