Won't get into the politics of hunting, as it's not relevant to this post, and the bloody hares should learn to run faster anyway. (joke but not funny).
I live about 1 1/2 mile from the Leverhume Estate in Great Alcar where the 'event' is held.
Every morning I burn up the BXXXX on my way from Formby to the M57 and month by month I see accident upon accident. I myself have been involved in a couple, over the years, and a mate of a mate lost his life and took 2 old biddies with him going back to the late 80's when his motorbike went straight through their window. Just last week a horse from a Stud not 300 yds from the Entrance to the event, was hit by a 307. I found the remains of this accident as I made my way home from work last Thursday. Dead Horse, Shocked Rider, Hysterical Driver, Pissed off Vet.
The week before a car had hit a telgraph pole (on a straight FFS) the week before that a car had ploughed straight on at a bend and a head on had occurred.
So I was amazed last night to see 4 police horses with riders trotting along this road in the twillight with no lights. Further along I was amazed to see an UNLIT tractor pulling a trailer along the BXXXX filled with park and ride w@nkers. and another one 30 odd people in the trailer no lights, straight past and waved out by a traffic directing police numpty.
Now I'm not impressed.
At least 15 police officers were witness to this flagrant law breaking.

Probably yes. The police would have issued a bill for the cost of policing the event. Which basically means do what you like as you payed for us.
A TV commercial was being filmed in the village where I work. The Production trucks were completely blocking a road with double yellows on both sides. I couldn't get to the office, and that road leads to a hospital! Asked the copper why they were not doing something about the parking...his responce was basically they payed us to make sure they could do this. Now stop bothering me or i'll take you in!....
