I invited an old friend and his new wife round for the night yesterday. They told me they would be here
at 5:00pm but they finally arrived at just after 9:00pm.

I gave up my room for them and I stayed in the spare room. I am currently still waiting for a shower and change of clothes as they are still in (my) bed and it is now after lunch time!!

So, I waited four hours for them to arrive and i have waited (so far) Five and a half hours for them to get up..just so we could hang out of a couple of hours last night.

Are they being rude spending the day in my bed or am i being miserable?

I want to just burst in there and tell them to get the up and out of my house!

It was cheaper than a hotel for Valentines night, and they got to christen your bed side cabinets!

Sorry to hear your tale.

Have you met the "New Wife" before? I suspect that the problem may lie there. (Speaking from bitter experience, having seen two excellent friends change dramatically under the influence of wives. Out of contact with one of them now, on account of a similar social faux pas.)

Yes they must still be alive, i heard movement earlier...

I am making a point of not being hospitable..I am making no offers of tea or coffee or food until the buggers get up!
They did ask me yesterday if i had any plans for the day today but i assumed they were talking about spending some time with me rather than taking up my time!

Hedders, post their mobile numbers here, and we can all call to ask if they are nearly there yet!

I am tempted to leave them a note and go out.

Yes, i have met her a few times but we don't have a great deal in common, come to think of it i really don't have much in common with 'the mate' these days either..maybe time to cut them loose...

Have you considered knocking on their door an enquiring when they are planning to get up?

Alternatively, just march in, open the curtains and a few windows, anounce that its a beautiful day and that you're all going down the pub for lunch.

Set the smoke detector off, that should get 'em up.

They might be hanging around in bed, staying out of your way until you make 'get up' noises.

Perhaps a few 'get up' noises are in order.

My mates gran did that to him, caught him in mid stroke with his girlfreind.

I find a knock on the door and an offer of a cup of tea will get a result, just tell tem it will be ready in the kitchen in ten mins
